2-25-2012 Busy Day with One Big 'First' for Luke
Here's how the day has gone so far.....Lily had deck hockey from 0830 - 0945. I was supposed to pick up her friend Lila at 0945 while Charlie brought Lily home from hockey for quick drink and snack. However, I forgot to tell Charlie to take his work truck and leave the minivan for me. So, he ended up going straight from hockey to Lila's to the Girl scout cookie selling booth at Redner's. Then I picked the girls up from Redner's and took them for a quick trip to the library to stay out of Luke's hair. Then we came home for 1200 and met Luke's friend Tyler and his mom Patti in the driveway. We all came in the house for a quick pow-wow then left for the school's Winter Carnival. We spent about two hours there playing games and chatting with friends in the community.
Now Luke is at Tyler's for a playdate....1st time ever without a parent staying! He needs to interact with other kids and so this is a very good thing!
Lila is here having a playdate with Lily. They're going from one thing to another at lighting speed.
Charlie just got back from picking up a new central vacuum motor. Busy, busy, productive day!

2-23-2012 Our Version of Basketball Diaries...
Our school district has been doing quite well in basketball and we've been attending their games. Staying up late. Me and the kids sleeping until almost school time....Charlie going to work exhausted. But all that will end now because our season is over. We're so proud of the team and coaches. Lots of life lessons to pass on....work hard, try your best, don't give up, etc.
Gorgeous day out today. Luke and I spent about an hour outside clearing debris from last year's garden out. I had on a long sleeve tee shirt and was sweating. Makes ya wonder what the summer is going to be like.
Mom and Dad had the kids for a sleepover this past weekend. Charlie and I went to Allentown and dropped off the old Dell laptop to transfer files to a new Mac book Pro laptop. Yay! We also spent the evening shopping at Wegman's our favorite grocery store, although we see it more as a night on the town than grocery shopping. We came home Saturday night around 8:00pm and watched 'This Old House' on the laptop. We considered it the perfect evening! Sunday we putzed around in the morning then went for a nice long walk at a local park followed by fabulous steak I made. Ended the day picking up the kids and hearing all about their time with P&J.

2-4-2012 Luke's 9th Birthday
Our little buddy turned 9 today. We had a party with P&J (who forgot their gift at home) and Grandma K. and Uncle Ben (who gave money). We ate hamburger sliders and chocolate cake with straberries and whipped cream.
It is worth noting that this is the first year in a while we had a party on Luke's birthday. Usually there are health and/or weather issues that prevent us from celebrating. We offered to have a bigger party or go somewhere like bowling, but he wanted to stay home and keep it family only. No surprise there.

2-3-2012 All Together Now
We're all home today. Luke and I are home every day of course. Charlie is home because he's off every other Friday and today is a Friday off. Lily is home because she ran a fever all during the night and has a runny nose.
I started the morning by taking Luke to Wal Mart and allowing him to choose his birthday presents. He picked 'Plants versus Zombies' for his 3DS and 'Lego Star Wars III' for the Wii. Lily and Charlie stayed home and watched a DVD. Luke and I picked up 10 new DVDs from the library for us to watch before heading home.
Now Charlie and Luke are running to Bruno's Pizzaria to pick up pizza, stromboli, and meatball hoagies for a little pre-birthday celebration for Luke.

2-1-2012 Spring has Sprung way too Early!
It is 60 degrees and sunny with blue skies. Feels very spring-like BUT where is winter? The kids and I want snow. We want hot chocolate. We want snowmen. We want a snow day. we want Charlie to run the snowblower while I bake cookies. What the heck?
Yesterday we went to the park and Lily rollerbladed while Luke scootered and I power walked. It was nice to be out in the fresh air. Today I noticed my snowdrop flowers are in full bloom. I know I should be careful what I wish for, but I miss winter! It's the first winter in a long time I'm not working (other than at home that is) and Murphy's Law....no weather issues.
